Hi November! I'm about to update this to include the events :). I'm not as well versed about the other countries as I'd like to be so I don't have any strong predictions as far as that goes.

I agree with the team predictions (the 5 locks) and I'm HOPING that either Kocian or Ross make the team. Honestly at this point, I think it would be better for Ross's health to be the traveling alternate.
ReplyDeleteShould she be well enough to compete, I REALLY don't see Marta putting her up on all 4 events in qualifications. Given the results of the past year (and the fact that this injury has been a nagging one), I think that if Kyla or Kocian are the 6th member of this team, they'll only do bars. That's likely mean screwing Maggie out of a chance to fight for an all around spot. If Skinner happens to be the 6th person, I can see Marta taking Bailie off of vault (since as far as I can recall, she is the only person who has not yet verified/performed a 6.3/6.4 vault). As much as I am not a fan of Skinner's gymnastics, she is in better health than Kyla and less likely to break than Madison, plus more likely to challenge for an individual medal. The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking that the team is going to be the 5 AA girls + Skinner with (hopefully) Kyla as the traveling alternate and Kocian as the non-traveling alternate.

DeleteHey Katie! I think you're right about Kyla not going for the all around, but I promised I wouldn't change my predictions once I wrote them, oops! As far as Skinner...I'm super torn. I'm so not a fan of hers either but she might make sense for the team. I just can't see her on it this year though for some reason. I also want Maggie to do all around so I'd be ticked off it Skinner messed that up. I guess we just have to wait and see, I wish Worlds wasn't so late this year!
